Page 40. Exercise A. What kind of hotel do you like to stay in when you are on Holiday or on business?
I like to stay in a hotel that is comfortable, where I can rest, relax and have a good time being alone, with my family or with business people. The hotel must have many facilities in order to make my stay a really pleasant time, such as nice restaurants, comfortable rooms, in the case of a businessman trip an organized conference room and if I go with family or friends I like to find entertaining places where we can spend our free time.

Exercise A

1.     How often do you eat in fast food chains?
I try not to eat fast food very often, but when I do it is because I don’t have much time to cook something, especially at lunch time or on weekends when I just want to have some rest and don’t feel like cooking.

2.     How popular are they in your country? What is the typical customer?
The fast food chains are pretty famous in my country, there are many of them all around especially close to places like universities, schools and malls. The typical customers I think are young people and small families.

3.     How do they change their menus for the local market? Give some examples.
Here in my country people don’t make a big deal about the food, so I think fast food chains don’t have to change their menus regularly, maybe what they do is to add more products as they do in other places of the world.

5.     Why is it necessary to make these changes?
It is necessary to make those changes in the way that companies can reach more clients and therefore win a bigger part of the market and increase the company’s incomes.

2.     Which are the most successful in your country?
I think the most successful fashion companies in my country are Diesel, Chevignon, Zara and Forever 21.

3.     What do you know about Uniqlo, the global fashion retailer?
I haven’t heard about Uniqlo ever before.
